Our partnership with Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) saw Allan McDougall Solicitors sponsor the SDS Junior Swim Championships at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow on 24 November.
The firm’s Michelle Wilson was poolside to represent us. She commented: “I really enjoyed my second opportunity to represent Allan McDougall Solicitors yesterday at the SDS Junior Swimming Championships. It was great to be part of the SDS team for the day. I assisted poolside, helping get the participants in position ready for the next event, with guidance from the volunteers at SDS! It was a fantastic day out, and all participants were excellent - it’s very evident how much they look forward to these events. Thank you to SDS for having me, particularly to Mark Gaffney and Gordon McCormack from SDS for sharing their knowledge with me, and I look forward to the next event!”
Mark Gaffney, SDS’s Opportunities and Events Manager, said: “SDS is indebted to our sponsors Allan McDougall Solicitors for continuing their excellent support of our organisation’s Events Calendar which goes a long way to ensuring our participants have access to national-level competition at excellent venues such as Tollcross International Swimming Centre.”
SDS encourages the development of sport and physical recreation for disabled people throughout Scotland. It promotes sport for athletes with a physical, sensory or learning disability of all ages and abilities.
Its national events programme comprises a range of sporting activities, including swimming, athletics, football, bowls, cross country, archery and boccia.
While the Junior Swim Championships concludes SDS’s events for 2021, the calendar for 2022 already features lots of events to look forward to.
